    DUAL PASSAGES

    REFLEXIVE DRAWINGS

    (1996 - 1999)

The series of drawings ‘Dual Passages II’ explored a dialectical relationship between the methexis of collective cultural consciousness and other modes of being which lay deeper in the mind and the subconscious. The structures are signifiers of transitionary states mind, psyche and spirit, and involve the relationship and conflicts between immaterial and material; . The drawings are an exploration of inner-movements of the human psyche, and attemped to form a visual language and expression for the human condition. The signifiers in the work, of speed, distance, perspective are transient moments and are related to inner-changes, growth and travelling within our own being.

Infra-structures taken from engineering and machines represent conditioned and structured consciousness. Crossing transections, transversals, trajectories, fissions, interweave and question states of mind, contemplate underlying spiritual processes and human change.
